Character Information
Name: Xion Canon: Kingdom Hearts Days Canon Point: Just after/as she was fading away in Roxas' arms. OU/AU/CRAU/OC: CRAU Age: almost two years old now! (she looked like a young teen.)
So she learned that they were all nothing, they didn't really exist, they weren't really people and she was even less of a person, less real than the rest of them. Beyond that she went on missions where she saw other worlds, but was under strict orders never to interact. She saw a lot of beaches though, because she went to a beach on each world to collect a shell. Not sure what more to say about the worlds from canon given how little she interacts with most of them. Even the Castle where she spent most of her time she mostly only ever was in her room or Roxas' room or the room where she got her assignments.
Daitu was where she interacted more. This was a world where the main focus seemed to be magic. They were enrolled in the magical academy and were told that they had to attend classes and learn this new magic or they would explode. Xion.... mostly cut classes. Till Lea (Axel's Somebody) and Roxas and Isa (Saïx's somebody) arrived and started pushing at her. Even then she still only went... sometimes. Most of her time there was spent in the dorms - so she's now used to sharing a room at least - the rooftop she found, the ice-crematorium, and the areas she was sent to go eagull hunting. She did manage to find a beach which was... a feat given the floating nature of their school. But that was about it. She really... does not interact if she can avoid it. So being on the train where she has no choice will be a shock.
Personal History: (I appologize that the order of this might not be perfect, I am putting things where they make sense rather than chronologically as the game jumps time so much that a time line is... painful to parse)
Xion was created from Sora's memories of Kairi. She was created to be another Keyblade wielder to gather hearts for Kingdom Hearts. She spent her first week in the Castle speaking to no one, simply doing what she was told. Then after being partnered with Roxas one day, he invited her to have ice cream after their mission. He was missing Axel who had gone off to another Castle, so brought Xion into the sunset routine. Roxas was the first to be able to see her face as a face, and to actually hear her voice. Given how she was created, the others generally saw and heard what they expected. Which for most of them, was nothing. Roxas, however, saw her. Because he did, when Axel came back and Roxas spoke to him, Axel saw her as one of them as well and could hear her voice.
For three people told they had no hearts and could not feel emotions, they became fast friends. When they could, they partnered on missions and they met at sunset nearly every day for sea salt ice cream and to talk. Well, mostly to listen to Axel talk. Of the three of them he was the only one with memories from before the Organization, and he was a big brother figure to them both. They both looked up to him for reasons other than the fact that he was significantly taller than either of them.
As time went on however, a problem emerged. The stronger Xion got with her Keyblade - and in general - the weaker Roxas became. The stronger Roxas was, the weaker Xion was. Here it became a boon that they don't have human biology as each spent a fair amount of time in various comas as the other was at their peak of strength and ability. There was even a point when Xion was awake enough for missions but couldn't summon her Keyblade at all. She was certain then that she was going to be turned into a Dusk - a lesser canon fodder nobody. Axel had the brilliant idea that she and Roxas should team up. This way they were able to hide for many days that she couldn't use her Keyblade by making sure he took out double the amount of Heartless. It was hard work, but it helped. Until Saïx declared they would be split up again. Thankfully on their last day as a team, Xion was able to summon her Keyblade finally.
In the middle of all of this, there was an alert that an imposter wearing their uniform had been spotted. Xion encountered him. Riku. The first interaction did not go well. Things got harder after that. Riku started pushing at her after that first meeting, realizing that she was part of what was keeping Sora from awakening. She held part of the memories he needed. So he began trying to talk her into committing suicide. (Yes this is a Disney game.) She tried a few times, but she was conflicted. She wanted to stay with Roxas and Axel, and she was terrified of not existing. Until the final time, every attempt she made she always ran away first and delayed actually finishing herself, which gave Axel time to bring her back. She WANTED to be saved. Near the end she spoke to Naminé and finally came to terms with the fact that she had to not only die, but be forgotten. She had to fight against Axel again, trying to fight her best friend for the right to die for someone she never met and could only barely remember. In the end she needed Roxas' help to end her own life, and she died in his arms, him having forgotten her until they very last moment.
And then she woke up in an air ship on her way to Daitu Academy. She was sure that she had failed and spent the first long period of time that she was in that game trying to kill herself. Attempts to protect her for her own good were seen by her as acts of aggression. But she did eventually calm down. Lea showing up helped with that. A lot. They talked and he explained to her a lot of what happened after she died. You know, once he remembered her. She started engaging more, then and started collecting shells for Roxas, sure he would show up too.
Lea got her to start going to classes at least sometimes, and she started taking adventures and missions to earn funds so she could treat for ice cream. (She discovered she doesn't care for chocolate.) They started doing their sunsets again, and she always bought an ice cream for Roxas. It was important to her to that he knew he was wanted and they were waiting for him. When Roxas finally did show up, he was able to help her more by building in what Lea had already managed. Unfortunately Isa had her running scared. She spent much time sure that he was plotting against them all, or at least against her and Roxas, or just her. She spent a lot of time hurt and confused and holding things in. Lea had suggested she speak to Sora about friend things if she didn't want to talk to him and Roxas - she was afraid to hurt them - but Sora was gone and no one could find him. (The player started an RL internship and dropped.)
Then one day she spilled a potion of Lea's on herself, one that was supposed to remove impurities from metals or some such. Being used on a person - in so much as she counted - it made her start speaking, spilling out all the pain she'd been hiding inside herself, all the things that she was too afraid to say because it might hurt her friends. Lea was with her at first, but before long both Roxas and Isa were in the dorm with them as well. This thread followed by this thread. She slept for days after as her mind readjusted and after that she was starting to question everything. So of course that is when she'll wind up here....
Personality:
If you asked her, she'd say she didn't have one. Xion is quiet and shy, constantly in a state of fear. She clings to her friends and to routine, things she can count on. Change takes her time to adjust to, even good change. She was emotionally brutalized by her first year of being told by nearly everyone that she didn't exist, that she was worthless, that she was a failed experiment, a broken mirror. Axel and Roxas were the only ones who said otherwise, though a few of the other members were less abusive, ranging from ignoring her all together to one who actually occasionally ruffled her hair and called her Poppet but otherwise didn't seem to care.
She did in canon tend to gravitate towards those who showed her any positivity at all, even if they had been horrible to her before. Like Riku. But in Daitu she wound up getting casual positives from so many people that she became overwhelmed. With Lea there she clung hard to him, and then to Roxas, because they made sense. They were her friends. They knew what she was. People like Webby and Noa wanting to get to know her, and liking her, and then more and more people... she just got so confused.
She gets overwhelmed easily. And she still has little to no self esteem. She is still getting used to the thought that she might actually be an actual person with a heart and an actual existence. And more, that she might have been the first fo them to start having a heart. She's learning. And while this will set her back some, since Lea is also apping in, she will learn and get back to where she was in Daitu and beyond, I am sure.
Now when she is needed, that changes things. She's used to missions, to having to prove her worth. She also doesn't see it herself but she is protective. So when the missions come up, when there is a cause to fight or to protect, she is like someone else. She can stand strong and do what needs to be done. She actually does best with assignments, because then she has rules, an understanding of what is expected and what qualifies as a good job. She will have to be shown how to do most chores on the train - like cooking and laundry and cleaning - but once she learns she will obsessively work to o the best she can, with a constant need to prove herself. Part of her will probably always be sure that someone is out there judging her, and that she's going to be found wanting. What little existence she feels she sort of has, she desperately wants to keep, now that she knows that it will be okay in the end (cause Roxas, Lea, and Isa spoiled her on the end of KH III).
She also had to fight a fake Xemnas multiple times in Daitu which was healing and helped her come to terms with a lot. But there are some places where her clinging to the old are still clear. She still calls Lea Axel (and he lets her), she doesn't understand why she should change her clothing - again non-human biology - and Lea got too embarrassed to explain it, so she clings to her uniform as another touchstone of who she is.
On the note of protectiveness, she was beaten up every day for a while by bullies, never fought back because they were Somebodies, and she couldn't hurt a Somebody for the sake of a Nobody (herself), but as soon as they tried to hurt someone else... she fought. More she kept it secret to keep Lea and the others from getting into trouble. She would rather be hurt then let someone else get hurt or in trouble, and she largely equates being in trouble with being in danger. So she tries to protect her friends, protect others, by taking the pain and not speaking about it. So she is protective via Martyrdom. Which given the end result of her game was her suiciding for the sake of others, this is kind of a thing with her...
In short, she came up being told to never be seen and that she doesn't deserve to exist. And a lot of that is with her still, despite everyone's best efforts.
CRAU developments: LOTS. She briefly met Sora. Which was huge. She's been remembered by Lea, Roxas, and Isa. She's faced faux Xemnas. She's spoken to Somebodies. She's starting to accept that maybe she does have a heart. She's no longer terrified of Isa. She learned some new magic. She's actually seen a school, and sort of understands what one is. Maybe. And Lea got her a lot of "This is" type books at the library to teach her what things she's never seen before - like cars - are.
Key themes: KEY themes? Hm? (sorry, that amused me.)
Friendship, first and foremost. He friendship with Roxas and Axel was the only good thing she had, and she would do anything for her friends, if it is something that she can do. She would die for them. More difficult, she would live for them.
Existential angst. Days is the game of what is existence/should we exist? She constantly questions this and will probably always wrestle with this.
Stability of routine. Xion clings to this. The routine back in canon was that she woke up, was given an assignment, did the assignment, met Roxas and Axel for ice cream and watching the sunset, RTCed (return to castle), sleep. Lather rinse repeat. On every mission she went to find a beach before she came back and picked up a shell. On the days Roxas was in a coma, she left that shell on his bed. In Daitu was much the same. Woke up, went to part of a few classes, hid from bullies, hunted eagulls (or did another mission she was assigned), find a beach to get a shell, sunset ice cream, and before Roxas arrived put a shell on a bed in the dorm for him. Once he was there it was either go to her dorm or sneak into his, sleep. Lather rinse repeat.
Low self esteem - she's working on it. And Lea is helping her with it. But it is there, it is core, and it isn't just going to vanish. It is a constant theme in her life.
Protectiveness - both at her and from her.
Main Motivation:
Protect her friends, and if possible, survive. After that spending time with her friends. She would do anything for them if she could (though getting her to change clothes so far has been a thing she couldn't do.) Also now... she's trying to figure out who and what she is.
Skills:
Keyblade wielder. So she can fight, using the blade for melee as well as using magic. She also has additional magic she learned in Daitu though she did not learn as much as Lea did. But she knows some of the basics now and could learn more with practice and study if she can be convinced to do so.
Hard work. It is a skill to keep pushing, to keep going. And it is a skill she has.
Item: Her uniform, so long black coat, black pants, black gloves, black heeled boots to hide how pathetically short she is.
If at all possible, I'd love if she could be roomed with Lea. Also if they are not on the same team she probably will ditch her team to work with him if he lets her. But yeah, if you take room requests at all, please please please put her in with Lea, because she will be much better for it.
